The right length depends on the purpose. A short paragraph can be 100 to 150 words, a school essay is often 500 to 1,000 words, and a detailed blog post or guide is often 1,000 to 2,000 words or more. Search engines do not have an official ideal word count. The best length is the one that fully answers the question of your reader without extra filler.

Type or paste your text into the box and the word counter shows the number of words, characters, sentences and paragraphs instantly. There is no button to press, because the numbers update live while you type.
Words are counted as groups of characters separated by spaces or line breaks. A group that contains at least one letter or number counts as a word, so a lone dash or symbol is not counted. This is similar to how word processors such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs count words.
Characters with spaces counts every character including spaces and line breaks. Characters without spaces counts only letters, numbers and symbols and ignores all spaces and line breaks. Some forms ask for one and some for the other, so both numbers are shown.
Sentences are counted by the full stops, question marks and exclamation marks that end them, including the Urdu full stop and Arabic question mark. Paragraphs are blocks of text separated by one or more empty lines.
Reading time is estimated from your word count using an average silent reading speed of about 238 words per minute. Speaking time uses about 130 words per minute, which is a comfortable pace for a speech or a voice over. These are estimates and real speed differs from person to person.
Yes. The tool works with any language that separates words with spaces, including English, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and most European languages. Languages that are written without spaces between words, such as Chinese and Japanese, are not counted word by word.
Keyword density shows how often a word appears in your text compared with the total number of words, as a percentage. It helps you notice words that are repeated too often. Write for readers first and use keywords naturally, because there is no perfect percentage that guarantees ranking.
A standard X post can contain up to 280 characters. The character limit checker in this tool shows how many characters you have used and how many are left. Accounts with special subscriptions may have higher limits.
A meta title of about 50 to 60 characters and a meta description of about 150 to 160 characters usually display fully in Google results. Google actually limits by pixel width, so these are guidelines and the exact cut-off can change.
A single SMS with standard characters can hold 160 characters. If the message contains Unicode characters, such as Urdu text or many emojis, one message holds only about 70 characters, and longer messages are split into several parts.
There is no fixed limit. The tool runs in your browser, so very large texts depend on the memory and speed of your device. For books and very long documents, check them in sections.
